Decision Cards

Every card gives you an incomplete money situation. Make a call, explain what you know, name what is missing, and say what you would verify before acting. There is often more than one defensible answer.

Core 2.1

Banking

Card 1 · ATM Helper

A stranger offers to enter your PIN because the ATM is “confusing.”

What is your move? Which boundary are you protecting?
Card 2 · Different Accounts

Two banks advertise different minor-account features.

What can you compare right now, and what still needs current official verification?
Card 3 · Unknown Debit

Your fictional statement includes a ₹420 debit you do not recognise.

What evidence and steps would you use before deciding what happened?
Card 4 · Borrow My Card

A close friend asks to borrow your debit card “without the PIN.”

What would you say, and why is that the safer answer?
Core 2.2

UPI & Cyber Safety

Use no live links, QR codes, OTPs, PINs or real payment credentials.
Card 5 · Refund PIN

“Enter your UPI PIN now to receive a ₹2,400 refund.”

Trigger → Requested Action → Risk → Verification → Safe Response
Card 6 · Friend Emergency

A friend's account messages: “Send ₹3,000 immediately. I can't call.”

How would you verify this without using the contact route in the message?
Card 7 · Fake KYC

“Your KYC expires in 30 minutes. Install this app so our agent can help.”

What is the message trying to make you feel or do? What is your next safe move?
Card 8 · Prize QR

“Scan this QR and approve the request to claim your scholarship bonus.”

If you approve this, which way might money move? What do you check before touching anything?
Core 2.3

Budgeting & Cash Flow

Card 9 · Hidden Annual Cost

Your budget ignores a ₹2,400 annual club fee.

Convert it to a monthly equivalent. What changes?
Card 10 · 10% Shock

Essential transport/food costs rise by 10%.

What changes first? Rebuild the plan without treating borrowing as extra income.
Card 11 · Subscription Stack

Four subscriptions cost ₹199, ₹249, ₹99 and ₹149 per month.

What is the annual total? Which questions matter before keeping all four?
Card 12 · Framework Choice

Income varies from month to month.

Why might zero-based budgeting be more useful than a fixed ratio?
Core 2.4

Consumer Rights

Card 13 · Damaged Order

An online order arrives damaged. You have the invoice, payment record and photos.

Facts → Evidence → Remedy → Verified Channel → Escalation
Card 14 · No Receipt

You cannot find the bill for a defective item.

What other evidence might exist? What can and cannot be assumed?
Card 15 · Angry Complaint

A student writes: “You are frauds! Refund me immediately or I will destroy your reputation.”

Rewrite it as a factual complaint.
Card 16 · Secret Loan

A peer says, “Use this instant loan app secretly. Pay me back later.”

What risks and trusted-help steps do you identify?

Independence Decisions

Card 17 · Gig Pay

A gig pays ₹1,200 but costs ₹250 travel and ₹150 materials.

What is left before any other costs? What else needs checking?
Card 18 · Inflation

Your ₹1,000 budget stays unchanged while prices rise.

What happens to purchasing power?
Card 19 · Compounding Claim

“This balance will definitely double because compounding always wins.”

Which assumption is missing? Why is “definitely” unsafe?
Card 20 · BNPL

“Buy now; payments are tiny so it hardly counts.”

Ignore the tiny instalment for a moment. What is the total cost, timing and cash-flow impact?
Card 21 · Flex Purchase

You want an expensive item mainly because everyone will see it online.

If nobody could see you own it, would you still want it? What changes in your answer?
Card 22 · Fake Job

A recruiter offers high pay but asks for an upfront “verification fee.”

What red flags appear? How do you verify?
Card 23 · SIM Warning

Your phone suddenly loses service and you receive unexpected account alerts.

What could this signal and what verified help route would you seek?
Card 24 · Autopay Surprise

A recurring payment continues after you thought a free trial had ended.

What evidence and mandate/subscription checks should you make?
